Breathedge 2 quests should be completed by restoring the station and train first, then following the story antenna chain while clearing nearby side objectives when you have a safe oxygen route. The current Early Access build includes the first major story chapter, main and side quests, NPCs, optional locations, repairs, combat, and exploration objectives. This hub separates story progression from optional tasks so you can get an answer without reading later spoilers.
Main quest order
The opening sequence starts with the spacesuit, helmet, Chicken, Sui, and Babe. You then craft Scrap from two Metal, open the phone booth, free the frozen generator battery, restore power, and raise the pantograph on the train roof. Inspecting the train reveals four repair tasks that establish the gathering and crafting loop.
After the train repairs, the story expands into communications and antenna objectives. The interphone requires Electronics x5, followed by a wiring repair using Metal x5, Wires x2, Aluminum x4, and Duct Tape x2. The main quest walkthrough keeps the sequence in objective order and labels larger story developments before discussing them.
Opening train repairs
Kettle Bobby needs Aluminum x3, Wires x2, Electronics x2, and Plastic x1. The Nutri-Pack-O-Mat needs Aluminum x3, Wires x2, Electronics x3, and Plastic x1, while the lamp uses Plastic x1, Metal x2, and Glass x2. Repair the window with Cardboard or Foam.
Inspect each fixture before gathering because the interaction usually records or exposes the correct requirement. If a component is missing, use the resource index to identify the object and tool that produces it. Returning with one complete recipe is safer than staying outside to fill every repair at once.
Antenna objectives are not all the same
The small broken antenna near the station is a side quest requiring two pieces of Antenna Debris. One piece floats beyond the antenna, while the second is behind the train platform near an asteroid or large ice chunk. See Repair the Antenna for the precise local route.
The main story later uses a broader antenna chain involving pods, repairs, beacons, and additional structures. A story repair can require Metal x4, Wires x3, and Electronics x4 for electronics, followed by Aluminum x3, Duct Tape x2, and Plastic x2 for an antenna. Always match the guide heading to the exact objective wording shown in your tracker.
Side quests near the station
The Attendant quest becomes practical after power is restored. Its body is below a nearby station platform, its head is around the benches near the starting train, and its small arm rests by the metal bridge beside blue machinery and three orange balls. Completing the assembly grants Physical Protection +2 and the Attendant achievement.
Other optional tasks reward exploration, unusual interactions, and achievement bonuses. The side quest hub focuses on available objectives without presenting unannounced future content as playable. Early Access updates may add or restructure this list.
How to avoid a blocked quest
First confirm that the previous objective completed and the tracker changed. Restore station power before investigating frozen or inactive machinery, inspect repair targets before collecting, and bring the tool shown by the interaction prompt. If a marker points through debris, circle the structure and look for a usable panel rather than forcing a straight approach.
For a missing small part, stop moving and scan edges, shadows, and the underside of platforms. Quest objects can be much smaller than the machinery they repair. Repeating a slow landmark-based sweep is usually more reliable than increasing the search radius.
Spoiler and version policy
Every dedicated walkthrough begins with the direct solution, then explains the route. Major story outcomes belong under descriptive H2 headings rather than the introduction. This allows a stuck player to solve one interaction without learning the rest of the chapter.
Quest information was checked on September 1, 2026 against the initial Steam Early Access build and current gameplay references. Objective names, requirements, and locations may change during development. When the live game disagrees with a guide, trust the current tracker and recipe panel.
Prepare for any quest route
Read the active objective, inspect its target, and write down the exact materials or parts before leaving the train. Repair the required tool, store unrelated valuables, and keep enough open slots for every physical quest component. Choose a visible outbound landmark and a separate return landmark before spending half the oxygen supply.
On arrival, finish the quest interaction before gathering optional salvage. Wait for dialogue and the tracker update, then confirm whether a new repair stage replaced the old requirement. This habit prevents a common mistake: carrying the right materials for the previous panel while the quest is already asking for the next assembly.
When a route fails, identify whether the problem is objective order, missing power, wrong tool, inventory space, or navigation. Change one cause and retry from the closest safe point. A structured second attempt is faster than searching a larger area with the same incorrect assumption.
Read objectives in stages
Many repairs contain more than one submission step, so a completed electronics panel may immediately reveal a separate wiring or assembly cost. Reinspect the object after every successful interaction and wait for the tracker to settle. Never assume the next materials match the package you just delivered.
Take a screenshot or short note of the exact live wording before leaving the station. On return, compare the item names and counts before interacting with neighboring panels. This prevents similar antenna parts and shared construction resources from being assigned to the wrong quest stage.
