How to Repair Service Warmers in Breathedge 2
Repair Breathedge 2 Service Warmers, raise Depot ambient temperature to 100%, prepare the required materials, and solve common progression stalls safely.
On this page+
To repair Breathedge 2 Service Warmers, follow the main objective into DEPOT, repair marked heaters in sequence, and keep going until the Ambient Temperature counter reaches 100%. Bring the materials shown on each live repair panel—an early documented warmer needs Metal x4, Light Bulb x1, Wires x4, and Electronics x2—and inspect the newly melted area after every repair. The heater chain is a progression gate, not a single switch hidden somewhere in the Depot.
Reach the correct Depot objective
Service Warmers begin after the late Outskirts communication work creates New Coordinates and the destination identifies itself as DEPOT. If your journal still asks for antenna debris, a beacon, a probe, or another communication action, finish that active step before looking for a warmer. Exploring a frozen area early can reveal scenery, but it does not replace the quest state that makes the repair route meaningful.
The useful confirmation is the quest text Raise Ambient Temperature to 100%, not a distance shown in a video. Turn the task on, arrive at DEPOT, and check that the percentage is visible before committing a full inventory of repair parts.
The main quest walkthrough explains the opening train and antenna chain that precedes DEPOT. Use it to identify the last confirmed task you completed, then let the journal—not a guessed route—choose the next destination. Early Access quest wording can change while the broader route remains recognizable.
Prepare one repair package at a time
An early reported Service Warmer uses Metal x4, Light Bulb x1, Wires x4, and Electronics x2. Do not assume every heater uses an identical recipe: inspect the live panel and collect the exact total it displays. A current in-game prompt is more authoritative than this or any other static material list.
Metal and Electronics are common enough to gather along established salvage routes, while Wires usually come from the appropriate electrical panels. Light Bulbs are easier to miss because they come from suitable interactable lamp assemblies rather than every decorative light. Carry a little extra only when inventory capacity and oxygen allow it; an overloaded trip is not safer merely because it has more parts.
Before leaving a safe point, reserve material for your active repair and for the tool that gathers its missing component. The resources guide helps identify source objects, while crafting recipes show why Wires and Electronics may already be competing with another objective. This short check is faster than reaching a frozen heater with one missing item.
Repair the closest marked warmer first
Follow the current marker to the nearest reachable heater and approach until the repair interaction is visible. A panel can be on the lower or less obvious face of an industrial object, so circle it rather than repeatedly striking the casing. Submit the live materials only after the object clearly identifies itself as a Service Warmer.
Once a warmer starts, wait for the visual transition and the Ambient Temperature counter to update. Player routes commonly show the percentage increasing in several stages rather than jumping straight to 100%, so 17%, 34%, 61%, or 78% is progress rather than an automatic failure. The number is a better completion signal than how warm the surrounding scene appears.
Inspect the nearby ice immediately after each repair. A heater can expose an accessible route, a resource surface, or the next logical marker when its heat clears the area. Returning to the previous hub before looking at what thawed is one of the easiest ways to turn a linear chain into unnecessary backtracking.
Find the commonly missed components
Light Bulbs are a frequent cause of a return trip because the game ties them to an interaction rather than treating all lamps as loose loot. Approach a suitable lamp assembly, wait for the tool or interaction prompt, and collect the bulb only when the object identifies it. Randomly dismantling lights can waste time and may target scenery that was never a resource.
For Wires, scan electrical panels and machine surfaces rather than open rock fields. Electronics are often associated with devices or salvage that show an interaction cue; their exact source can vary with the object. The best gathering route is the one that produces the live missing item, not the one that sounded reliable in a launch-day guide.
Handle cold protection and the Foreman carefully
Check the Cold Protection requirement in the journal before entering the next cold area. Improve the suit with available insulation or upgrades until its resistance meets that value. If environmental damage starts before you reach the repair marker, return to warmth and prepare the suit before continuing.
The Foreman and other nearby interactions can overlap with the heater route, but their dialogue or calibration should not replace a visible main objective. Complete the interaction the journal asks for, confirm the resulting marker or percentage change, then return to the warmer chain. This keeps optional exploration from being mistaken for a mandatory material gate.
Cold Protection reached 100 but the quest will not complete?
On Easy difficulty, update to 0.8.11 first. The developer fixed a quest that asked for cold resistance of 100 but actually waited for 130. Check the character's resistance value and current difficulty, then revisit the cold objective before gathering more insulation.
This check uses a resistance value of 100, while Service Warmers raise Ambient Temperature to 100%. If your journal still asks for ambient temperature, continue repairing heaters rather than changing the suit. The 0.8.11 patch checklist identifies the exact Easy-difficulty condition.
Know when the Service Warmer route is finished
The heating task ends when the Ambient Temperature objective reaches 100% and the journal moves back toward the antenna sequence. At that point, stop searching DEPOT for an imaginary master heater. Remaining resources, side interactions, and unexplored structures may be worth revisiting, but they are no longer evidence that the heating objective is incomplete.
The next important route leads toward the 10G antenna and later signal work. Hotfix 0.8.6 fixed rapid ice removal failing to count; Patch 0.8.11 now counts petals at 80% open and corrects the hinge-material display. Use the 10G antenna checks to match a remaining antenna stall to its journal stage.
If the percentage will not increase
First verify that you repaired an object marked as a Service Warmer and that the repair animation finished. Next, inspect the active journal text for another prerequisite, then examine the recently melted space before traveling to a distant marker. These checks resolve most apparent stalls without guessing at a hidden setting or recreating an entire save.
If the repair panel will not accept materials, compare each stack and tool prompt with the live requirement. A material with a similar name, an uncompleted earlier interaction, or a full inventory can make a valid route look wrong. Save the exact objective text and build number before reporting a reproducible issue.
The repair-route baseline remains 0.8.7 / September 6, 2026. The Easy cold-resistance and 10G changes were reviewed against the official 0.8.11 note on October 2, 2026. This patch review leaves the older material baseline separate; inspect each live warmer panel before gathering.
