Find Breathedge 2 resources by searching for the object that contains them and bringing its required tool: Scrap handles many loose deposits, while the Cutter opens pipes, panels, and station salvage. Aluminum comes from cratered asteroid deposits with the Thumper, Plastic from pipes, Wires from electrical panels, and Electronics from devices or floating appliances. Learn these visual sources instead of memorizing one coordinate, because Early Access placement can change.

The interaction prompt is authoritative when an object supports a different tool in your build. Stand close enough for the resource name and tool icon to appear before striking. Randomly attacking scenery wastes durability and can make a route seem less productive than it is.

Aluminum

Search larger asteroids for obvious crater-like deposits, then use the Thumper where prompted. Aluminum is needed repeatedly for the train systems, Cutter, interphone, antennas, Gas Tank, and upgrades. Mark nearby productive rocks mentally and revisit them as part of a safe oxygen loop.

The first train repairs alone can consume six Aluminum across Kettle Bobby and the Nutri-Pack-O-Mat. Save four more for the Cutter and avoid optional spending until these progression crafts are complete. Read the focused Aluminum guide for farming priorities.

Plastic

Plastic is commonly tied to pipes around station platforms and structures. Inspect exposed colored or broken pipe sections and use the tool shown by the prompt. Because Plastic appears in the Cutter, Thumper, train repairs, antenna work, Flashlight, Backpack, and other recipes, collect it whenever the return path is safe.

Do not confuse the material with visually similar tubing that has no interaction. Approach from different angles and let the highlight confirm the source. The Plastic location guide includes an efficient station route and spending order.

Wires and Electronics

Use the Cutter on electrical panels to obtain Wires. Search station walls, wreck machinery, and recognizable electrical housings rather than open rock fields. Wires are required by drink and food repairs, interphone wiring, antenna electronics, Twister, Gas Tank, and Flashlight recipes.

Electronics come from panels and devices such as floating televisions or washing machines, often using Sui Hand or Scrap depending on the object. The interphone can require five Electronics in one stage, so preserve them. See the Wires guide for panel recognition and route planning.

Metal, Glass, and Ice

Metal is the foundation resource for Scrap, the Cutter, Thumper, repairs, and several later crafts. Search balls, barrels, containers, and general salvage that show the Scrap prompt. Keep a reserve because a broken tool can otherwise prevent you from harvesting the resource needed to replace it.

Glass appears around wrecks and windows, while Ice is abundant near large chunks and frozen machinery. Ice is used in consumable recipes such as Purified Oxygen and Alcohol, but gathering more than your immediate recipe needs fills storage quickly. Glass is less universally useful, yet the train lamp and Flashlight make early pieces worth keeping.

Duct Tape, Foam, and Cardboard

Duct Tape is harvested from appropriate pipe and structure objects with the Cutter and becomes important in interphone, antenna, and upgrade recipes. Foam and Cardboard also come from platform or ship salvage with the Cutter. Their smaller number of uses makes them easy to discard just before a repair asks for one.

The damaged train window accepts Cardboard or Foam, which makes either material immediately useful. Keep at least a small stack of each uncommon construction component until the opening repairs are finished. After that, use the recipe list to decide what belongs in long-term storage.

Plan an efficient gathering trip

Choose one missing recipe, empty several inventory slots, repair the required tool, and travel through known landmarks. Collect secondary materials only when they do not endanger oxygen or displace the main target. Return as soon as the recipe is complete instead of turning a successful run into a risky general sweep.

Store rare materials and assemble recipes at the train. When you find a productive object type, remember the landmark rather than relying on exact distance. The map and survival guide explain how to turn those landmarks into repeatable routes.

Early Access verification

These sources were checked on September 1, 2026 against the initial Early Access build and current gameplay references. Spawn density, object appearance, extraction tools, and recipe demand may change. The current interaction prompt should override an outdated table.

Official roadmap statements describe more equipment, locations, vehicles, and building systems, which will likely expand the material economy. This page lists only resources confirmed in playable content. Planned materials will not be added until they can be verified in game.

Use a resource shortage workflow

Start with the exact missing name and quantity, identify its source object, equip the required tool, and choose the closest known landmark containing that object. Return as soon as the complete recipe package is secured. This workflow replaces broad scavenging with a repeatable answer to one shortage.

If the expected source yields a different item, record the object and move on rather than exhausting oxygen there. Check the current build's interaction label and update your route after returning safely. Early Access changes are easier to detect when each trip has one measurable goal.
