How to Find the Signal Jammer in Breathedge 2
Find the Breathedge 2 Signal Jammer with three readings, complete the facility and shuttle steps, retrieve it safely, and fix common Chapter 1 stalls.
On this page+
Find the Breathedge 2 Signal Jammer by completing all three strong jamming readings in sequence, then follow the new facility objective through its power, airlock, shuttle, and alkaline-solution stages. The jammer is not revealed by the first reading, and the shuttle is not a shortcut you can use before its tank objective appears. Keep the main quest pinned, use the live prompt for every device, and wait for the final circular indicator to settle green before using the Crowbar.
Start the jammer route at the right story gate
The jammer search begins after the DEPOT heating chain, not when you first see a distant antenna or an optional structure. Finish the active Service Warmers objective until the journal confirms the required Ambient Temperature, then follow the later antenna objective out of the heated route. Optional DEPOT research and collectibles can wait; they do not replace the main-story handoff.
If your journal still says New Coordinates, Raise Cold Protection, or Raise Ambient Temperature, return to the matching stage in the main quest walkthrough. The signal search will not start simply because you fly into the colder structures early. Treat the exact wording in the journal as the gate, rather than trying to reproduce another player’s route from a landmark.
Bring a working Crowbar, oxygen, and an open slot for a quest item. The objective identifies the next interaction as you advance, so a focused inventory makes stage changes easier to see.
Take all three strong jamming readings
Follow the directional interference until the game records the first strong reading, then use the new direction to find the next one. The first point only begins the triangulation and the second narrows the search; neither one is the facility destination. Continue until the journal records a third strong reading and gives the structure that the readings converge on.
Do not leave the loop to hunt a guessed tower after one peak. When a reading does not seem to advance, stop at the exact interactable point, wait for its scan or dialogue to finish, and recheck the journal before changing direction. This avoids the common mistake of treating a visual landmark as proof that the previous reading registered.
Restore access at the jammer facility
After the third reading, approach the facility with Find the Signal Jammer tracked. The entry is objective-gated: external power and the access sequence must be completed before an interior door or console behaves as expected. Do not search outside for an invented code, and do not spend tool durability on a closed entrance that shows no prompt.
Inside, follow the named interaction chain one device at a time. A later part of the sequence involves a missing head and an updated identity profile that opens the way forward; this is a story interaction, not a collectible to search for across the map. If an object or marker is absent, preserve the save and compare its state with the current official hotfix before replaying unrelated facility steps.
The cooling-system step can make the airlock appear to be a new blocker. Starting the pump-out sequence locks the airlock as part of the route, then the journal adds a manual reactivation step. Finish that new step before assuming the sealed door needs another tool, material, or hidden switch.
Why the shuttle will not accept alkaline solution
The shuttle will not accept alkaline solution until the journal changes to the filling objective. The chain runs in order: find the jammer, obtain the marked solution, fill the shuttle, then retrieve the jammer. Open the tank only after that objective appears; visiting early or carrying a similar-looking item cannot complete the story. The solution comes from the marked parasite route, where the game directs you to use the Sprayron interaction and collect the resulting material.
Return to the shuttle as soon as you have the required solution, open its tank cap, and submit the material while the objective is still tracked. Confirm the journal changes before continuing into an unrelated cave or returning to DEPOT. If the tank does not accept the material, compare the item name and objective wording instead of assuming that every alkaline-looking pickup is valid.
Start the shuttle sequence with sufficient health and oxygen. Hotfix 0.8.7 changed a shuttle-flight save condition; allow the scene to finish before relying on a fresh save.
Retrieve and activate the jammer
After the shuttle sequence, keep the journal visible through the parasite encounter until it explicitly asks you to retrieve the jammer. Clear the required sequence, take the jammer only when its own interaction prompt appears, and wait for the pickup to register. A visible object is not necessarily a completed objective until the journal advances.
Retrieving the jammer is followed by one final activation. Watch the circular readout and use the Crowbar when the indicator has stopped moving and turned green; an early swing does not complete the timing step. Once the transmission plays, you have reached the current Chapter 1 Early Access cutoff rather than an unmarked continuation route.
You can return to optional tasks after that point on the same save, but do not confuse a side marker with the next story chapter. The achievements guide and map guide are better places to plan cleanup. This page stays focused on the path that resolves the jammer search itself.
Fix a stalled Signal Jammer objective
Patch 0.8.11 fixes death during an active dialogue interrupting it and blocking progression. It separately fixes death during the jammer's dialogue causing later playback to retain a processing effect. If you died during the conversation, update first and identify whether the remaining symptom is a stalled journal or altered audio.
For a stalled task, resume the last confirmed objective and inspect the next required interaction. For altered playback, check the dialogue and quest state before repeating unrelated repairs. The 0.8.11 symptom checklist keeps the general progression fix separate from the Jammer-specific sound correction.
Hotfix 0.8.8 specifically fixes a case where jumping as the WTF ejected the player from the jammer could leave the character stuck. If that happened on an older version, update first, load a safe save, and repeat the relevant interaction without jumping during the ejection. The official note names that condition; it does not prove that every failure in the facility has the same cause.
For a missing head, a missing marker, an inactive airlock, or an unchanged objective, identify what is actually absent before searching for a workaround. The Hotfix 0.8.8 guide covers the named save and progression fixes, while 0.8.9 covers the later station-chief marker correction. Keep the objective text, build number, and a preserved save if the live game still differs.
Source and verification note
This route was editorially cross-checked on September 13, 2026 against independent launch-week reports and the current Chapter 1 objective sequence; its hotfix condition comes from the official Hotfix 0.8.8 announcement. The official source confirms the named jammer softlock, not every location or timing detail. The active journal remains authoritative when prompts or wording change.
The gameplay-route baseline remains 0.8.9. Patch impact was reviewed through 0.8.11 on October 2, 2026 using the official announcement. That review adds the named dialogue fixes without claiming a fresh replay of the facility or final timing step.
