Breathedge 2 Side Quests
Find Breathedge 2 side quests by route, separate optional jobs from story objectives, prioritize useful rewards, and fix missing markers in Early Access.
On this page+
Start Breathedge 2 side quests with the broken antenna and Attendant near the crashed train, then complete later optional repairs when the main route reaches their region. Do not clear every icon before advancing: prioritize a task when it is close, the correct tool is available, and its reward improves a survival limit. Keep Service Warmers and the Signal Jammer on the main route even when optional encounters appear beside them.
Separate side quests from story objectives
A side quest can be postponed without stopping Chapter 1. A main objective changes the current story route or unlocks the next required area. Achievement interactions may resemble side quests but sometimes exist only as a prop, puzzle, repair, or repeated action rather than a conventional journal entry.
Use the exact journal wording to classify a task. The local broken antenna near the train is optional, while the later communications antennas belong to the story. DEPOT contains optional interactions, but raising Ambient Temperature with Service Warmers is a main progression gate. The jammer readings, facility, shuttle, and final device are also main objectives.
Complete the two early station quests first
The broken station-side antenna is the shortest orientation task. Find it to the left of the train platform, collect the two nearby pieces of Antenna Debris, and return them to the active repair point. One piece floats beyond the antenna; the other is behind the station near an asteroid or large ice chunk. The focused antenna guide gives the search boundaries.
The Attendant is another useful early detour after station power is restored. Its body is below the nearby platform, its head is around the benches by the starting train, and its small arm is at the metal bridge beside blue machinery. Returning all three parts grants the Attendant achievement and Physical Protection +2. Use the Attendant walkthrough if the arm blends into the structure.
Treat achievement activities as optional route stops
Several useful detours are represented by achievements rather than a classic quest-giver chain. At the Outskirts train, entering 0861 on the red CAB DOOR keypad unlocks Hacker and its maximum-health reward. The Hacker guide explains where the correct number appears and why the nearby 0613 note is not the code.
The snowman activity becomes practical only after its warmth and lamp conditions are ready. Following the yellow pipes too early can reveal the location without exposing the usable parts. The snowman guide keeps the search around the melted site instead of sending players across the region.
Alphabet belongs to the Taxi-sign activity. Hotfix 0.8.7 clarified that the letters are intentionally scattered near the sign rather than left in the demo's single pile. Keep the task active and search the local radius; the Alphabet guide explains the current-build method.
Handle the Foreman as a DEPOT-side encounter
The Foreman appears along the broader industrial and Service Warmer route, but proximity does not make every Foreman step part of the heating objective. Approach the sparking robot, follow the live discharge or repair prompt, and read the current material panel before leaving to gather supplies.
Published guides disagree about some displayed material totals, which can happen when a carried/required interface is read as a total cost. This page therefore does not replace the panel with an unverified number. Record the requirement shown in your save, carry a small reserve, and avoid spending the same Electronics or Metal on an optional craft before returning.
The later test uses dialogue answers rather than another salvage search. Read the complete answer wording instead of memorizing a screen position, because presentation can change. After the interaction, confirm the journal, nearby machinery, and any reward state before assuming that dialogue alone completed every related objective.
Keep PornHubble tool rules with the active objective
PornHubble creates a different kind of confusion: the location can be correct while the marker or tool advice is outdated. Hotfix 0.8.7 fixed a case where the Debug PornHubble marker did not appear before the grate was cut. Hotfix 0.8.8 then changed the grate so it requires the Cutter rather than the Crowbar.
If the grate does not react, confirm that Debug PornHubble is active, equip the Cutter, and wait for its matching icon. Do not attack every grate or burn tool durability while another objective is pinned. The Cutter guide separates this named interaction from screwdriver and Twister changes introduced around the same patches.
Because PornHubble can overlap the communications route, do not automatically place the whole sequence on an optional-cleanup list. Follow the current journal first, then return for achievement or cache interactions that remain after the required stage.
Complete Taxi inspection without repeating one part
Patch 0.8.11 fixes completing Taxi inspection by opening and closing the same element repeatedly. Inspect the different elements requested by the task and check progress after each one. If the journal asks for letters instead, switch to the Alphabet search: inspection and sign assembly use different completion conditions. The 0.8.11 checks cover that distinction.
Find optional activities by region
Use your current story location to pick a nearby detour. These are confirmed activities, though an achievement interaction may not appear as a conventional side-quest entry in the journal.
| Region | Useful optional stop | Before you start |
|---|---|---|
| Starting station | Broken antenna, Attendant | Restore power; keep the side antenna separate from the story chain |
| Outskirts train | Hacker keypad | Find the red CAB DOOR, then use the code clue on the train |
| Yellow tunnel and cold route | Snowman | Heat the area and repair the gas lamp before searching parts |
| DEPOT heating route | Foreman encounter | Read the repair panel; keep Service Warmers on the main route |
| Taxi area | Alphabet letters | Pin the Taxi task and search around its sign |
| PornHubble | Debug task and cache interactions | Follow the current journal; the grate requires Cutter |
Patch 0.8.10 changes the snowman nose counter and Latin American Spanish Taxi-letter placement. It does not make every landmark a new quest. Carry round-trip oxygen and a free inventory row, then use the patch guide if either named interaction fails.
Fix a side quest that will not start
First complete the nearby prerequisite: station power, a conversation, discovery of the object, or the preceding main objective. Approach the actual interaction panel and wait for the journal to update. A visible structure is not proof that its task is active.
If a collected part does not register, compare its exact inventory name with the objective. Similar antenna and machinery components appear in different contexts. Keep unmatched items in storage rather than discarding them or forcing them into another device.
After a patch, retest the shortest failing interaction from a safe save. Record the installed build, objective text, object, and tool icon. Official patch notes can confirm a named marker or interaction fix, but they do not guarantee that an older save has replayed every trigger.
Understand this page's verification limit
The early station routes keep their hands-on baseline of 0.8.2. Named patch effects were reviewed through 0.8.11 on October 2, 2026, including the Taxi inspection correction. That later review does not claim every optional activity was replayed; use the current journal to choose your task.
