Breathedge 2 Patch 0.8.10: What to Recheck
Use this Breathedge 2 Patch 0.8.10 guide to check snowman nose counting, Taxi letters, statue markers, stuck spots, Steam Deck UI and movement penalties.

Breathedge 2 Patch 0.8.10 fixes the snowman nose counter, Latin American Spanish Taxi-letter placement, mud-statue markers, several places where a character could get stuck, and Steam Deck menu buttons. It also reduces movement penalties from fatigue, overeating, and overload. If one of these problems blocks your save, update the game, confirm the installed version, then retry only the affected interaction before replaying a longer route.
Match your problem to the patch
The developer published 0.8.10 — Patch Notes on September 23, 2026. This is a patch, not a new Chapter 1 story release. The announcement names individual quest states and interface behaviors; it does not say every old recipe, collectible location, or achievement route changed.
| What you see | What 0.8.10 changes | First check |
|---|---|---|
| Snowman counter behaves oddly after fitting a nose | Carrot and cigarette no longer both count as the nose | Read the current objective after fitting one nose item |
| Mud statue shows too little guidance | Three markers now appear and clear as the sculpture progresses | Pin the statue task and inspect the remaining markers |
| A Taxi letter will not fit in Latin American Spanish | Letter placement is fixed for that language setting | Confirm your game language and retry at the sign |
| Character is trapped during a named installation | Caretaker and antenna installation collision fixes | Let the animation finish, then test movement |
| Steam Deck menu needs the right trackpad | Affected UI buttons are fixed | Retry the same button with ordinary controls |
Build the snowman without double-counting its nose
Before 0.8.10, both a carrot and a cigarette could be fitted as a nose and both could count toward the snowman quest. The official correction says only one nose item counts now. If you found both objects, do not assume they satisfy two separate progress steps; inspect the quest counter after using the first one.
The announcement does not publish a new complete component list or promise that every older save will display an identical intermediate counter. For the route to the object, the yellow pipes, the gas lamp, and the nearby search area, use the Snowman achievement guide. That guide identifies its older hands-on baseline separately from this patch review.
If the snowman is still frozen, nose counting is probably not the immediate blocker. Finish the warmth and lamp prerequisites before searching for exposed parts. If the assembly is available but the counter stalls, note which object you fitted, which slots remain interactive, and whether the journal changed before trying another loose piece.
Read the three mud-statue markers in order
The mud statue now shows three markers instead of one, and each marker disappears as its part of the sculpture is completed. The mud-ball trajectory also points toward the center of the sculpture rather than its head. These are guidance changes for an existing interaction, not confirmation of a new statue quest.
Pin the relevant objective, approach the statue, and look for the remaining marked targets before throwing another mud ball. Aim by the current trajectory instead of an older screenshot that points toward the head. After each successful placement, pause long enough to see whether one marker disappears; that visible change is a more useful progress signal than throwing repeatedly from the same position.
Retry the Taxi sign in the affected language
Patch 0.8.10 fixes placing alphabet letters on the Taxi sign when the game is set to Spanish (Latin America). The developer explicitly says regular Spanish already worked. This distinction matters: a missing letter in English or European Spanish is not automatically the same reported bug.
At the sign, first check that the relevant task is active and that you are carrying a letter the current objective expects. Then retry the placement prompt after updating. The Alphabet achievement guide explains why the letters are scattered near the sign in the current Early Access route rather than grouped at their old demo position.
Recover from the named stuck spots
The character can now be moved up and out if stuck while installing Station Caretaker parts. The patch also fixes getting stuck while installing antenna parts, inside Chuck's Taxi niche, and in the white toilet door. The toilet door should additionally stop shifting position after loading, while training-dummy collisions were improved.
If your problem matches one of those places, update before repeating the shortest blocked action from a safe save. Wait until the installation animation ends, try ordinary movement, and check whether the quest objective registered. Do not use a general “antenna is fixed” claim to skip a missing component: the named repair concerns the character becoming trapped during installation.
Test controls, journal, and encyclopedia directly
Steam Deck buttons that previously required the right trackpad received a UI fix. Test the same affected screen with your normal controller inputs after updating; the announcement does not provide a frame-rate target or a new Valve compatibility rating. The Steam Deck guide keeps performance questions separate from this menu-control correction.
The journal scrollbar now appears when there are five tasks, where it previously appeared only from six in some languages. If you could scroll only with the mouse wheel or gamepad, reopen a five-task journal and check the visible bar. This is an interface change, not evidence that a hidden quest was added or removed.
Examining a collectible now opens its encyclopedia entry directly instead of the start page. The fried worm is categorized as food and has an entry, resistances display again, and sleep can be cancelled with Esc or a gamepad Cancel button. The ticket-office stabilization hint should also stop lingering.
Plan movement around the lighter penalties
Fatigue, overeating, and overload still matter, but 0.8.10 reduces the movement-speed penalties they apply. The official note gives no percentages or speed values, so a precise before-and-after number would be invented. Compare movement in the same area and condition if you want to judge how much the patch changes your own route timing.
Do not treat a softer slowdown as extra oxygen capacity. Start with a safe return line, keep inventory weight under control, and leave time for a changed quest interaction. The survival guide explains the round-trip oxygen rule and now distinguishes the earlier 0.8.6 survival-drain adjustment from this 0.8.10 movement change.
Source and verification boundary
This page was checked on September 26, 2026 against the official 0.8.10 Steam announcement. The version, date, and named changes above come from the developer's note. The checks are editorial troubleshooting steps derived from those specific changes, not a claim that every affected quest was replayed on a personal 0.8.10 save.
For the latest version after another update, start with the patch-note tracker. Keep historical conditions attached to their own patch pages so an older fix is not mistaken for a new change. When a live prompt disagrees with a guide, record the exact objective, language setting, installed build, and interaction before revising the route.
