Breathedge 2 Hotfix 0.8.7 fixes several launch-week problems that can look like broken progression: Attendant parts can no longer become stuck inside the unit, selected objects now require the Twister, and Taxi letters are intentionally scattered near the sign. The update was released on September 4, 2026. Check the live prompt and your quest journal before repeating a long route, because a fixed interaction may behave differently from an older video or demo guide.

What Hotfix 0.8.7 changes

The official patch addresses a mixture of progression, save, interaction, and display issues. It fixes ultra-wide 5120×1440 resolution reverting to 3840×1080, and it reworks door behavior that could trap the character after another object left a doorway. These are fixes, not new gameplay systems or new Chapter 1 objectives.

Two save-related cases received specific changes. Saving is now restricted until the character has fully exited the shuttle-flight scene, because a save at the wrong moment could leave the character stuck when loaded. The patch also fixes a Depot detachable-yoke case that could cause a save/load failure.

Treat those notes as prevention guidance, not a guarantee about an existing broken save. If you still fall through the world or cannot load correctly, check the version first and preserve the save rather than repeatedly overwriting it. The developer asks affected players to send details to its official support contact.

Attendant parts that will not install

Hotfix 0.8.7 fixes an issue in which the Attendant's body parts could become stuck inside the machine. If you are returning to the quest after the update, approach the unit with the active task selected and install one required part at a time. Let the animation and objective change complete before inserting or searching for another component.

Do not use the fix as a reason to collect parts again immediately. First inspect the Attendant from more than one side, verify the counter or prompt, and check whether the part is already consumed by the current save. A missing prompt after a completed animation may indicate a different prerequisite rather than the specific bug named in the patch.

The Attendant parts guide remains the location reference for the opening route. Its build label predates this hotfix, so use the in-game interaction text for the final installation sequence until that route has been retested. This is more reliable than assuming an older screenshot shows the current state.

Crowbar versus Twister interactions

Before 0.8.7, players could dismantle some train crates, lamp shades, robots, and doors with the crowbar. The official note says those objects now have to be unscrewed with the Twister. If an old guide tells you to strike one of those objects and nothing happens, equip the Twister and look for its matching prompt instead.

This does not mean every object that fails to break should be forced with the Twister. Some scenery is not interactable, while other targets need a quest stage, another tool, or a repair action. Stand close enough to see the tool icon; using a durability tool against an unmarked object only wastes time and can create a false bug report.

For the broader tool order and material planning, use the crafting guide and recipe list. The patch changes an interaction rule, not the principle of checking a target before spending materials. A current tool prompt is the most dependable answer during Early Access.

Taxi letters are not missing

The patch includes a direct clarification about Taxi letters: their placement changed from the demo, and the letters are deliberately scattered within roughly a 20-meter radius rather than sitting together. This is important for the Taxi sign and the Alphabet achievement, because a demo video can send you to an empty pile that no longer exists.

Search the immediate Taxi structure before expanding the route. Work in a circle around the sign, checking the underside of platforms, nearby supports, and reachable edges, then return to the sign as each letter is found. Keep the quest active so the current interaction and completion state are visible.

The patch does not publish a permanent coordinate list. Avoid treating one player's exact route as universal, especially if the game language or a later hotfix changes what is visible. The intended search area and the live placement prompt are stronger evidence than a copied screenshot.

Debug PornHubble and markers

The official note says the Debug PornHubble task previously had no marker until its grate was cut; that marker condition has been fixed. If you are on the task, complete the shown grate interaction and then wait for the UI to refresh before deciding that the marker is absent. A marker may not appear for an earlier task simply because the necessary objective is not active yet.

Keep the wording of the journal objective intact when troubleshooting. “No marker” can describe several different situations: an untracked quest, a missed interaction, a marker behind a structure, or a genuine defect. The update only confirms the named task's former marker issue, so it should not be used to diagnose unrelated objectives.

If the marker is still missing on 0.8.7 after the prerequisite action, save at a safe location and capture the quest text. Include the build number and the exact object you interacted with in a report. Those details are useful to both the developer and any later correction to this guide.

Safe play after installing the hotfix

Load a save near a safe base or station, open the journal, and test the next required interaction before carrying a full inventory into an unfamiliar area. This is especially helpful around the Depot and shuttle sequence, where the patch lists save-related corrections. A short verification loop is safer than learning about a changed tool requirement halfway through an oxygen run.

Avoid overwriting the only save that demonstrates a serious problem. Keep the build number, a screenshot, and the smallest reproducible sequence, then contact the developer if the error remains. Do not edit save files or rely on an unofficial fix unless you understand the recovery risk.

For ordinary progression, continue to prioritize the tracker, tool icon, and repair screen over this summary. Patch notes explain why a rule changed; the game tells you what your current save requires. That is the most useful distinction when a guide and an interaction no longer agree.

Source and review note

The factual change list on this page is derived from the official Hotfix 0.8.7 announcement published through Steam. The developer's note is the source for the date, save restrictions, Twister rule, Attendant fix, Taxi-letter clarification, and marker fix. This guide adds route-safety context and does not claim that every issue was personally reproduced.

The update is part of an actively changing Early Access build. Review the patch-note tracker before relying on a guide verified against an older version. When a later official patch changes any of these behaviors, this page should be superseded rather than quietly rewritten as if the old issue never existed.
